Why Are Decent Americans Raging In the Streets Right Now if Biden Will Win?

An open letter to my fellow Americans and the other half who see my existence as not worth even a few bucks.

November 4 2020

It Doesn’t Matter Who Wins Until Decency Wins

It doesn’t matter who has the keys to the White House in this dumpster fire we’re calling a “country.” Last night, millions of ordinary Americans made it clear: decent human beings have no place here. The rage you see tonight has nothing to do with Joe Biden or Donald Trump. The Trumpists are waving Trump signs; don’t you think we’d be waving Biden signs if it mattered? We rage because human survival is at stake. The number of electoral votes doesn’t matter: when the value of a human life is measured solely by the number of dollars our own neighbors erroneously told by Fox News that said life will cost them. They’d turn their backs on their own neighbors for a few extra bucks they don’t even need. I don’t see who would want to be in charge of this place. I only want to leave it.

Now We Both are Clear on Where We Stand

I always thought I was being a little negative when I thought about things, but this….I was right. It’s not even that you want us dead-wanting us dead or out of the way would be affording us the dignity of assigning us a title of “problem.” No, you don’t give a shit either way, so long as we don’t cost you any of your precious money money money. o you, it is unAmerican and un-patriotic to help anyone when they fall down- even to get back up again. Now, the way of the GOP and the exercise of true freedom kicking the shit out of someone who is already lying on the ground and taking their wallet. If they lived a good life, they wouldn’t have tripped and fallen on the sidewalk, no? Take all you can get in the name of freedom. In this Great America, if you fall off the dock, the sharks will circle immediately and people will cheer them on,. Anyone who tries to help get you out of the water and to safety gets called a “bleeding heart commie socialist liberal” and gets shoved in the water with you. Until last night, I thought I needed to chill out when I thought this way. No last night proved I was right.

Why We Are Full of Rage

This is a country where your tax dollars had better be going to putting people who were off of their medication or couldin’t go to rehab for a drug problem in prison due to the results of the lack of health care rather than actually providing health care for those people. You don’t care when your money is taken from you to be given to billionaires who bring part time jobs rather than full tie jobs into your community; who pay people on 1099’s so that they don’t have to pay benefits. You honestly think that it is the employees of these billionaires, your own neighbors, whose kids go to school with your kids, who may even work one of those jobs at your company who are “sucking you dry.”. Yes, it is these workers who are costing you money, driving up your taxes and driving up your medical insurance rates with their “entitlements.” Instead of working only sixty hours a week, perhaps the lazy bums just ought to stop being poor, no? Yet, you are fine when told that Jeff Bezos paying a 1.8% tax rate while you pay 33%. Bezos is entitled to be a billionaire. He works hard. But your neighbor who works three part time jobs after being able to not have to go on disability because of the ACA? That insurance must be taken away immediately because you can use the extra money you think you’ll get back in a tax refund to boy a new IPad for your two year old grandson who doesn’t know the difference between it and a peanut butter and jelly sandwich so you can impress your damned in-laws. That’s why we are filled with rage tonight.

Something You are Clearly Not Acquainted With: The Human Drive for Dignity and Respect

Many good people are restless and angry because tonight because last night, they found that out that their neighbors are either incredibly stupid and greedy, or monsters and greedy, and they don’t know which is worse. That is why we rage and will continue to rage, This genie cannot be put back in the bottle, I will never forget how I felt last night when I saw as many states as red s they were….to even disagree, we need to start at a baseline; but that’s gone. To have a dialogue between two people, you must first see me as another human being, an equal. But you don’t.

We Lost So Much Last Night

I want to go back to who I was, and who I wanted to believe you were on the night of November 2, 2020, before I had confirmation that you see your fellow citizens as nothing more than leeches. It was one thing to think it and think I was just being bleak, and completely another thing to know it was real all along, and my depression was merely a logical result of the knowledge of what I dared not articulate for myself. These people on the street? They were positive once. You see, last night they found out what you think for the first time, whereas for me, it was only confirmation. That’s why I’m here writing, and they’re out there, demonstrating, because they don’t know what else to do.

Forget “Making America Great Again”- We Have to Make America Human Again

Tell me, what does this “Great America” you seek look like? Imagine if the money that was going to put down all these protests tonight because people don’t think they matter in this country, was put toward health care to help people continue working, to keep their jobs, to feel like someone-like literally EVERY other developed nation uses the taxes it collects from its people for? To take those tax dollars to help provide for education and opportunity rather than put people of color behind bars? How about having some real help for people to get back on their feet if something happens, rather than them falling to the sharks. But no, you root for the sharks—worse, you even aspire to be the sharks! That’s the American dream—anything else would be socialism, no? We’re Americans. We’re exceptional! We’re free!

You can stick your “freedom to be an asshole” right up yours.

After such knowledge, what forgiveness?

I am deeply concerned about the breakdown of communication and therefore empathy and frankly, human decency that is occurring all over the developed world, not just the United States.
